PI in brief
Giuliano Giambastiani received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Florence (Italy) and the University Pierre et Marie Curie – Paris IV (France) in 2000, working on drugs total synthesis. After his post-doctoral fellows at the University of Lausanne, UNIL first and the University of Milan later he joined in 2001 the ICCOM group (Institute of Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds of the Italian National Research Council – ICCOM-CNR) where he holds the position of Senior Researcher since 2007. He is currently commuting between ICCOM-CNR and ICPEES-CNRS, University of Strasbourg where he is PI of the TRAINER project (Catalysts for Transition to Renewable Energy Future) sponsored by the French presidency. His current scientific activity mainly deals with homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis and with the preparation and characterization of technologically advanced materials and composites based on functionalized carbon nanostructures.
